If you're into traveling by train, you'll be into Roaring Camp Railroads. There are two trains following two different routes, both of which leave from the same railway station in Felton, California. The narrow-gauge Redwood Forest Steam Train travels to Bear Mountain through old-growth redwood groves and back in an hour and 15 minutes. The standard-gauge Santa Cruz Beach Train makes its way down a windy path to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk along the San Lorenzo River and back in three hours.

Are there any times/seasonality to know beforehand?
Roaring Camp Railroads is open all year long. As far as timing goes, parking closes at 5:00 p.m. unless trains are still operating. If so, they remain open until the last guest has left, which is usually around 5:30 p.m.
Are there places to eat near the Railroads?
There are restaurants at Roaring Camp Railroads. You can also bring your own food. Picnic tables are available for all day rental at a cost of $25 per table.
